Pre-Summer HVAC Checklist

By April 9, 2019 No Comments

Want your HVAC system to be ready before the warm weather arrives?

There is something you can count on every year in Arizona…it’s going to get hot. Really hot! One of the most miserable things that can happen is to have your air conditioning go out in the middle of the summer. Hence, it’s a good idea to have a qualified technician come do a check of your entire HVAC system before the warm weather hits. At Ocean Air, we are happy to come out and do a pre-summer maintenance check on your HVAC system. Following are a few of the things we will be sure to check.

PRE-SUMMER HVAC CHECKLIST:

  • New Air Filter– This is something you can easily do yourself if you prefer. The general rule of thumb is to change your air filter every 3 months. When you have a clean air filter, your HVACpre-summer-hvac-checklist system is able to receive proper airflow, which prevents it from overworking and therefore extends the life of your HVAC system. (Note: If you have pets or allergies, you will want to change your air filter more often, preferably every 1-2 months.)
  • Check Functionality of HVAC Unit – Our technicians can test your system, checking for anything unusual, and diagnose and resolve any small problems before they become big ones.
  • Clean your HVAC Unit– Most HVAC systems will be comprised of an outdoor portion (the condenser unit) and an indoor portion (the air handler). When we clean the units, it will allow them to function more smoothly and efficiently and will also allow us to spot potential problems.
  • Check Air Conditioner Refrigerant Levels– Our technicians will be sure to check your freon level, and if needed, we will recharge your system in order to prevent motor burnout or ice build-up.
